Report on a Guest Lecture on “Impact of Laboratories (Remote and Virtual) in Engineering Education”

Under the Civil Engineering Students Association (CESA), the Department of Civil Engineering organized a Guest Lecture dated 21 st of October 2023 for all Engineering Students. The lecturer was Dr. Samir Kale an Assistant Professor with Work Integrated Learning Programmes at BITS Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. Dr. Samir has 21 years of academic experience at BITS, Pilani, he also has teaching process engineering courses at collaborating organizations such as Grasim Industries Ltd, Nagda, Hindustan Zinc, Chambal Fertilizers and Dr. Reddy’s Lab. He teaches process engineering courses such as chemical process calculations, process design principles, process safety and other related core courses. His specialization is in the process safety and process simulation field in which he has published his research papers. He has strong educational background did his B. Tech (Chemical Technology) from Amravati University, Maharashtra and pursued his M.E(Chemical Engineering) and Ph.D. from BITS, Pilani. He was faculty in charge of Experiential Learning for the core engineering group from Jan 2019- May 2021. Currently, he focuses on curriculum review for the process engineering program.

Tech 3 rd and 4th Year students of Civil Engineering Department. The expert faculty Prof. Anurag K. Gahalod form the Civil Engineering department was there along with the student, Prof. Anurag K. Gahalod did M. Tech in Environmental Engineering.

The site visit was Water Treatment Plant, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, Prof. Anurag K. Gahalod guided the students about the various steps of the treatment, in water treatment plant.

A visit for the observation of CENTRAL JAIL AMRAVATI at Amravati (under the supervision of the Superintendent of Jail Shri. Bharat Bhosle) and the visit was organized on 07th January 2023 wherein 51 students went to visit CENTRAL JAIL AMRAVATI.

The visit was conducted under the kind supervision of Dr. Ranjan dube, Prof. Sheetal Warankar, Dr .Santosh Choubey. As per the report there are almost 28 District jails, 1 womens jail, 1 Borstal School, 13 open jails, 1 Special jail and 1 other jail in the state of Maharastra.

Nature Trail at Bandarjira Location Chatri Talaw

A nature trail is the basic teaching tool in outdoor education. Its purpose is to provide a controlled natural experience for visitors to enjoy, where they will be shown, by simple signs, the trees, smaller plants, geology, natural communities, the native animals that live in the area, and how these are related to people, to each other, and to other resources.

School of Pharmacy, GHRUA organized Blood donation camp on 7^th April 2022 from 10:30 PM to 4PM. (65 Students) had participated in event of Blood donation at School of Pharmacy, Amravati.

Department of Electrical Engg of GHRU, Amravati Organized an Industrial Meet

Department of electrical engineering of G H Raisoni University, Amravati organized an Industrial Visit at Rajni Electricals Pvt Ltd situated at MIDC Amravati on 5 th April 2022. The Rajni Electricals Pvt Ltd does the repairing and maintenance of different types of transformers such as Distribution and Power, etc. Founder of the company Mr. Hemant Pangarkar guided the students of BTech programme of Electrical Engineering about the practical applications of these transformers. Mr Harshal Takpire, faculty of Electrical Engineering conducted the Visit. We also Thankful to the Vice-chancellor Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, Dean (Student Welfare) Mr. Prashant Awachat, Registrar Mr. Snehil Jaiswal and HoD Mr. Chetan Bobade for their valuable guidance and motivation for such activities.

VISAVA

Day Friday, 1^st April, 2022, The Students of School of Management studies G H Raisoni University Amravati Under the Banner of ENTHUSIA - Forum inaugurated an innovative Initiative VISAVA - A Step Towards Conservation of Birds with a tagline, “Birds look great when they fly, don’t let our chirpy friends die.” VISAVA is best practice towards society and environment. The students have prepared nests for birds from waste material found at home and also created water holders to be hang on the trees so that the thirsty birds can be conserved.

Day Tuesday, 8 th March 2022, The Students of School of Management studies G H Raisoni University Amravati witnessed the Second day of UTTHAAN-The Management Week, Under the Banner of Enthusia Forum.

The Second day i.e., Vitta Vyakhyan- Basics of Accounting workshop was Conducted on 8 th March 2022. The expert Speaker was Dr. Dinesh Bele, Assistant Professor, Shri Shivaji Arts and Commerce College Amravati (Department of Commerce). The workshop was coordinated by Mrs Manisha Lende.

Students learnt the Key importance of Basics of Accounting to a Manager. The Patron of the event being Dean Dr.Mahendra Ingole, Felicitated Dr.Dinesh Bele with a Momento for his Gesture.

An expert talk was organized on dated 24th February 2022 for UG & PG Students. The guest speaker for the program was Dr Sunny G Deol. Dr Sunny G Deol has completed his PhD from SVNIT Surat. And is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at National Institute of Technology Raipur. During his talk he had emphasized on the importance of factors affecting rigid pavement design, the vital role of maintenance for increasing the durability and life of cement concrete pavement. At the end of the session, he focused on rigid pavement design calculation using MS-Excel. In his entire talk he kept on motivating the students to excel in their life. Expert Talk on “Structural Modelling, Analysis & Design from Basic to Advance” by Dr. Govardhan Bhatt organized by CESA (Student Forum) Department of Civil Engineering of GHRU Amt

An expert talk was organized on dated 02nd March 2022 for UG & PG Students. The guest speaker for the program was Dr Govadhan bhatt. Dr Govadhan bhatt has completed his PhD from IIT Roorkee. And is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at National Institute of Technology Raipur. During his talk he had focused on the basic properties of engineering materials and their behaviour, such that it can be utilized for analysis and design of structures. He presented the need for modelling and structural modal. He also discussed about the latest software that are preferred by in the structural design industries. In his entire talk he kept on motivating the students to excel in their life. During the talk all the students and staff members along with head of the department were present.

Gate awareness class by gate forum at civil engineering department of GHRU Amt

CESA organized gate awareness lecture on date 26 /02/2022, time 12.45 to 2.30 pm for third year and final year class of civil engineering department. Expert lecture conducted by Prof. V. M. Sapate assistant professor of civil engineering department. Total 17 students were present for lecture and take benefits. In the GATE exam awareness program, benefits, scope. And analysis of gate exam 2022 were discussed by Prof. V. M. Sapate and also taken some previous paper example and take exercise.

During expert lecture HOD Prof. H. B. Dahake, all faculty of civil engineering were present.

Expert Talk on “Career Guidance Program” by Mr. Shyam Askar organizes by Department of Civil Engineering of GHRU Amt under CESA 2022.

The Program was Scheduled under CESA 2022, titled as Career Guidance Program. The speaker Mr. Shyam Askar is alumni of Civil Engineering Department, GHRCEM Amravati, 2020 passed out. He recently cleared the BARC (Assistant Scientist) written exam with AIR 13, IOCL (Engineer) Qualified, Completed Document Verification. So, he guided the students regarding the career options they can choose in future, how to perform in different competitive exams. The total number of students benefited by this program were total 19. Two other alumni were present to support were Mr. Lokesh Shirbhate (Contractor) and Mr. Sahil Meshram (Contractor). During the talk all the students and staff members along with head of the department were present.

A seminar on Outcome Based Education was organized on 25th February 2022 under the regular knowledge series program conducted in GHRU Amravati for NAAC. Mr. Prashant Awachat, Dean Student Welfare had taken an initiative to make aware all the staff members of GHRU Amravati family about the Outcome Based Education. In present days OBE is very much important for all the academic institutions. Government governing bodies like NBA, NIRF and NAAC are insisting the OBE in all institutions for the enchased learning.

An expert lecture on “GENDER JUSTICE AND INDIAN CONSTITUTION” organized by Lawspective Forum on 12 .02.2022 at 12 P.M.The guest speaker for the program was Prof. (Dr.) Iqbal Ali Khan. He has been former dean and chairman of the law department Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh U.P. During their Expert lecture, he told us about the rights of women and the position of women in the constitution. He also discussed the provisions of the Indian Constitution related to the empowerment of the women. Program was conducted by Dr Naiyla Mobin Abbasi and welcome note given by Sharwari Vaidya .During their lecture our V.C. Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science Engineering launched the students Forum EESA and SPARK on 11th February 2022 in GHRU Amravati campus. The inaugural ceremony was held in presence of Honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, Dean (Student Welfare) Mr. Prashant Awachat, Controller of Examination Mr. Nitin Mandaogade, Head Mr. Chetan Bobade and Mrs. Sneha Bohra. On the 26^th of January 2022, GHRU, Amravati celebrated the 75^th Republic Day at the GHRU Amravati Campus. On this occasion, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vinayak Deshpande hosted the Flag. This program was attended by all of the Deans, Department Heads, staff and students.

G H Raisoni Univeristy, Amravati's Technical Festival, 'Paroksha 2019' organized on Wednesday 13th March 2019. The students of Civil Engineering G H Raisoni Univeristy, Amravati visited a under construction site at MHADA Amravati on 1st March 2019. This visit was arranged to know the types of footing and different components of steel structure to students. Head of Departments and other staff guided students the concepts of quality control and concrete technology. Professors and site engineers have guided students to connect with the theoretical studies and make them visualized the components drawn on board in the theory class.
