WBJEE exam eligibility criteria 2024
After publishing the WBJEE exam date, the website also revealed the 2024 eligibility criteria. Before applying for the WBJEE 2024 exam, applicants must confirm their eligibility:
General criteria
- As of December 31, 2024, 17 years old is the minimum age requirement for enrollment in engineering or technology. To qualify, they must have been born before or on December 31, 2006. There is no established maximum age However, as of December 31, 2024, the maximum age for the marine engineering degree is 25.
- For the reserved category candidates, applicants must be West Bengal residents to be considered for admission to government technological institutes or engineering programs.
Educational criteria
Pharmacy
- The 12th grade, or its equivalent, must have been completed by candidates from a reputable board or university.
- Candidates must have completed the 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and one of Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology, or Computer Application as required subjects. The cutoff should be 45% for general candidates or 40% for candidates from the reserved category.
- Candidates must get at least 30% in English in the 10+2 exam for the pharmacy course.
Engineering
- Candidates must have completed the 10+2 level or an exam recognized as comparable by the relevant Central or State Government.
- The candidate should have taken Physics and Mathematics as required courses in class 12 and one of the following qualifying subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Applications, with a minimum grade of 45% (40% for ST, SC, OBC-A or B, and PWD Categories).
- In the 10+2 test, applicants must receive at least a 30% in English.

Application procedure for WBJEE 2024
Applicants can use the methods listed below to complete the WBJEE 2024 application form.
Step 1
- Go to the WBJEE 2024 official site at wbjeeb.nic.in and select the "New Registration" tab.
- Include information such as your name, father's and mother's names, birth date, gender, a form of ID, and phone number.
- Click "Submit" after reviewing the registration's filled-out information.
- A registration number will be issued to the registered phone number and the given email ID upon completing and submitting the application form.
Step 2
- After successfully submitting the WBJEE 2024 Application Form, log in to the applicant portal and use the application number you were given and the password you created. Then, complete the WBJEE 2024 Application Form with all the necessary information.
- Additionally, candidates must select one of three regions of cities to serve as their exam site on the WBJEE exam date.

Exam Pattern of 2024 WBJEE
WBJEEB has exclusively been administering the WBJEE offline as an OMR-based test.
Candidates must choose the correct response by entirely filling the corresponding circle on the WBJEE answer sheet with either a blue or a black ballpoint pen.
Two papers constitute WBJEE 2024, each given a specific time frame during the same day. Two hours are allotted for each paper.
In the WBJEE, questions are divided into three categories:
- Questions scoring one mark include a 1/4 penalty for each incorrect response.
- A two-mark question has a negative marking of one-half for each incorrect response.
- negative marking is not employed for questions with two marks.
