How to Prepare for CUET 2024 –Preparation Strategy

Experts suggest the right time to start with Prepare for CUET is along with your board exams. However, there is always time if you have yet to start the task.

Before getting started, you need to understand the basics of the CUET exam. If you win a good score, the chances of getting admitted to acknowledged universities like Hyderabad University, DU, or JMI will increase.

Before start preparing for the exam, you must go through the following brief overview to understand the CUET exam format:

• CUET 2024 Syllabus:The CUET 2024 syllabus is already available from the National Testing Agency (NTA.) There are no changes from the previous year’s format.
• Marking System:CUET comprises negative marking. A correct answer will award candidates +5 marks; however, each wrong one will deduct -1 mark. The unattempted questions will not affect the marks in any condition.
• Exam structure:The exam structure will again follow the same pattern as CUET 2022. The syllabus comprises three sections: Languages, Domain Subjects, and General tests. Students can select up to 6 subjects from the domain subjects lists.
• Universities:Top universities such as Allahabad University, DU, and Hyderabad are on the list of participating universities. Like this, other 80+ universities allow the CUET exam to get admission.
• Eligibility Criteria:There is no minimum or maximum age limit for applying to CUET. However, a candidate must score at least 40% in HSC from a recognised university.

This year, the NTA has decided to conduct CUET online, unlike the previous year. Students will be given the exam in 12+ languages, including English, Malayalam, Urdu, Punjabi, Kannada, etc.

The exam is conducted in two different shifts. The first has an option for language, two domain tests, and a general test. In comparison, the second shift comprises four domain subjects and the optional language subjects.

Students can choose from the domain subject list from different options such as Accountancy, Chemistry, Legal, Mass Communication, etc. And from the optional languages, they can go for various foreign languages such as French, German, Kashmiri, Chinese, etc.

Even though there is no time bound to prepare for CUET, a candidate needs at least three months for a thorough study. Central Universities Entrance Tests can be tricky, so starting the prep along with the board exams is recommended.

Regarding CUET mock tests, completion of the entire syllabus is mandatory to get started with practice tests. Once students have reviewed the syllabus and finished their studies, they can handle the offline tests.

During this time, the previous year’s question papers are also helpful.

Before or during prepare for CUET, it is adamant about keeping the following things in mind:

• Always make notes: Whenever you complete a chapter, highlight the points you think might be necessary. Or, the better option is to make notes of all the crucial topics in a notebook. These notes are beneficial for a last-minute revision.
• Revise regularly:Adopt a revision habit because that helps you remember what you study. Refrain from dwelling on last-minute revisions. After completing a chapter, revise the topic again because revision helps keep the topic fresh in your mind.
• Practice, practice, and practice:There is only one way to crack CUET or any other entrance exam with practice. Make practice your priority and give mock tests or offline tests constantly to see where you stand against other competitors.
• Have a clear mindset: Everyone has personal issues, but keep those issues aside before starting to prepare for CUET. With a clear mindset, you get clarity in your mind, which helps you remember the content for extended periods.
• Take good care of your mental health: Always remember, mental health comes first. Do not undermine your mental peace under the pressure of CUET preparation. Also, get in the habit of taking a 15-20 minute break after every 2 hours studying session.
• Be positive:Staying optimistic while preparing for difficult entrance exams is the key to success for every accomplished person. Staying positive even in difficult times helps you prepare for the worst and the best. No matter what the future beholds, remember that hard work is always well spent.
